1. Scope

This notice explains how Gorilla Media collects and uses personal information through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

2. What we collect

Enquiry details you submit: name, email address, phone number, company name, the service you selected and your brief.

Account details if you register for the AI assistant: email address, name and an encrypted password.

AI assistant conversations, stored against your account so your history is available when you return.

Basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, used to keep the site working.

3. Why we use it

To answer your enquiry, prepare quotations, arrange site surveys and manage rentals or works you order.

To operate and secure your account and the AI assistant.

To meet accounting, permit and other legal obligations.

4. WhatsApp

When you click a WhatsApp button on this site, the conversation happens inside WhatsApp and is subject to their terms and privacy policy. We keep the message thread as a record of your enquiry.

5. AI assistant

Messages you send to the assistant are processed by a third-party language model provider to generate a response, and stored with your account. Do not submit confidential information, identity numbers or payment details in the chat.

6. Sharing

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate the site and business (hosting, email delivery, the AI model provider), and with authorities where a permit application or the law requires it. We do not sell your information.

7. Retention

Enquiries are kept for three years so we can pick up returning projects. Contract and accounting records are kept for the periods required by South African law. Account and chat data is deleted on request.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what we hold, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email us and we will respond within a reasonable period. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

9. Security

Access to enquiry and account data is restricted to staff who need it. Passwords are stored hashed, and traffic to this site is encrypted in transit.
